Martha Karua Leader of Azimio |
The Azimio la Umoja coalition has announced that their
supporters will gather at three locations for protests starting on Wednesday.
The leaders made a joint statement, stating that the meeting points are Joseph
Kangethe Grounds, Kamukunji Grounds, and Jacaranda Grounds. They also
encouraged Kenyans to participate by banging cooking pots and pans in large
numbers.
Narc Kenya's Martha Karua reiterated that the "Sufuria
movement" would officially commence on Wednesday. She mentioned the same
three convergence points in Nairobi: Joseph Kangethe grounds, Kamukunji
grounds, and Jacaranda Grounds. Additionally, she called for Kenyans to show
their support by banging sufurias, pots, and pans at midday on the same day.
Furthermore, the Opposition urged motorists to join the movement by parking their vehicles wherever they are, including on highways, honking their horns, and flashing their lights in solidarity with Azimio's case. In the midst of the announcements made by the Azimio la Umoja coalition and Narc Kenya's Martha Karua, Kalonzo Musyoka, another key opposition leader, asserted that they would persist with the planned protests, even after their security details were withdrawn.
"Despite the withdrawal of our security details, we
shall forge ahead with the protests," Kalonzo Musyoka stated resolutely.
With this statement, Kalonzo Musyoka emphasized the
determination of the opposition to continue with their demonstrations, despite
potential challenges to their safety and security.
